Another Stern Defense of Michael Vick

Here's the question: Is Tommy Urbanski worth less than some stupid fucking dogs? Unfortunately in our society that seems to pride itself on being cultured and caring, in all too many instances now days human life takes a backseat to those of dumb animals. Not only that, but our justice system is currently being run like a sporting league in which victories by way of convictions are more important than the actual seeking of justice. Both these sad trends are impacting the plight of Michael Vick.

So what the fuck did Vick really do? Sure, he decided to bankroll a gambling operation, but that isn't even as nefarious as Paris Hilton's continued insistence on driving drunk and without a license. That his modus operandi was dog fighting means next to nothing to me, especially considering the naturally violent and aggressive nature of the animals involved. Sorry, but I ain't buying the idea you have to train those dogs to be mean like that. You have to literally ignore the news reports of random maulings, attacks, and murders committed by pit bulls to think that. This happens at such an alarming rate that many communities around the globe (including the one I live in) have taken steps to make the owners responsible for their dogs' crimes - and yes they are crimes indeed, as so many owners take the aforementioned lackadaisical approach to the violent nature of these animals and fail to take the proper precautions.

Vick's major failing to me is setting up the gambling ring. For crying out loud, you're Michael Vick - one of the most widely known humans on planet Earth. People are going to be watching what you do. Be smart, man. Why is it so cool to get out of the hood and take the hood with you? I guarantee you if I were ever to score millions of dollars in some legal fashion, I wouldn't be putting the wheels back on my trailer and taking it with me. I'm not gonna try to take the snaggle toothed waitresses at the closest Waffle House to Beverly Hills with me, nor would I allow anyone who wanted to spend more than a fraction of a second around me to dress like a guest on Jerry Springer. But like so many other pro athletes, Vick decided success wasn't getting out of the Thug Life clothing - it was buying the real stuff instead of the knock-offs at the flea market.

The only thing Vick's guilty of is being yet another victim of the culture he grew up in. How many others do we as a society make excuses for every misstep based on the sort of environment they grew up in? And sometimes the environment doesn't even matter. Why the fuck is Vick getting 23 months and Paris Hilton didn't even get 23 days? Nichole Ritchie didn't get 23 hours, and both these bitches' actions endangered humans. Why is Packman Jones walking around free, when the victim of his behavior will never walk again? And why isn't there more outrage about this? I didn't even know the name Tommy Urbanski until I Googled 'Packman' to research this article. Yet I can't wear my #7 jersey in public without some snide comment.

The justice system (or lack thereof) is as much to blame for this as PETA pushing animals' rights and needs above that of humans. If you don't think our D.A.'s and prosecutors place convictions above justice, think back to the Duke rape case. Mike Nifong was fully prepared to destroy those 3 young men's lives to advance his career. A less well known case, 2 border guards named Ramos and Campeon have been prosecuted aggressively and illegally by a federal prosecutor - one Johnny Sutton. And this is nothing new. Prisoners are set free every day based on DNA evidence, and many have served lengthy sentences due to a conviction or agenda being more important than justice.

So I ask you - is the case against Vick justice, or the furthering of an agenda? Is it so much more important to protect animals than humans? Why does the state of Virginia want to give Mike Vick 5 years per dog, but judicial panels are recommending reducing sentences for offences related to crack? Is that justice? Is it even fair? And all this over a breed of dog well known for devolving back to it's natural state even after years of domestication. Yes, Vick fucked up. But trying to throw him in jail for 40 years over it is not justice, especially not when violent crimes against human beings aren't being prosecuted or protested about nearly as vehemently. You want justice?

Mike Vick already gave us real justice by showing those stupid pits some of the same vicious treatment they bestow upon us humans. An eye for an eye baby, and tooth for a fucking tooth. As far as I see it, Vick did us a service by finding an out of the way area to keep these dangerous creatures. Not only that, he was able to make a few bucks off 'em and dispose of them in some very entertaining ways. Sorry, but in a culture that gleefully watches videos of humans being killed and injured on YouTube and demands it remain legal to kill a human fetus, I ain't shedding any tears over a dog getting zapped with some jumper cables. So Arthur Blank, do what you have to in order to guarantee the best financial outcome for the Falcons and their fans. But remember what Mike brings to the field. I think this season is unequivocal proof Vick is indeed a coach killer - when he's not on the field. Petrino sucked as a NFL coach, and could never get the team to support him. But I bet he could have won with Vick. So get that legal team together, and make sure you get your QB back on the field ASAP. Not since the American Army needed George Washington has an organization needed a single individual more. And for all the protesters and animals-first retards that will undoubtedly complain and enter hand-wringing and gnashing of teeth mode? Tell them what I tell them.

The baby, father, old lady, and young girl were all attacked for NO REASON by pit bulls

Fuck those dogs.

to how much more important humans are than stupid fucking dogs
